Cowboys MVP..Romo or Austin?

The polls are showing a tight race. Make a case for who it should be. Or do you think another cowboy deserves it? I would love to read some good debate on this. Remember, its your site. Love to hear from you guys.

IMO while the offense has taken it to a new level with Austin in the line-up full time....the Cowboys would be a 6 win team (MAX)if Romo wasn't around. He's just like Manning in Indy - without Romo the Boys' would struggle.....my vote goes to Romo.

That is a good point JB_cowboys1. The difference is Romo is not turning it over as often anymore. well said, the impact of one of those guys missing puts into perspective.

My vote goes to Austin. Although Romo is the MOST important piece to the Cowboys success, Austin single handedly saved the season. Crayton and Williams were being questioned on their recieving efforts and Romo obviously was struggling just a bit with his ball protection and decision making; I think this affected his confidence just a bit. With Austin emerging as his go-to guy of the receivers, his confidence went through the roof! I live in the Dallas area and the media scrutiny Romo endured was UNBELIEVABLE! With Romo's confidence increasing, so did his decision making and accuracy. That is why I think Austin should be MVP!

wow, Raul makes a great argument too. The polling is so close. We have smart commentary by the fans here. I love it. Far more interesting than the media comments. I'm looking for bloggers to do some posts, anyone interested?

Nice post Raul....hard to argue either way - suffice to say the Dallas Cowboys would not be where they are today (and hopefully where this team progresses too in the near future) without both of them playing very good football...BTW - I may be interested in helping out with blogs and / or stories...problem is finding time between work, family and so forth...

I think an arguement could be made for Romo, Austin and Ware. But in my opinion the MVP of this team is on the Defense and is not an option to select in the poll. No doubt in my mind this Defense and entire team would not be where it is with out the emotional leader of KEITH BROOKING <---- MY MVP

Good point Lunk. The defense has been outstanding. Hard to imagine this team without this defense. I agree that Brooking is the emotional leader they needed.

The defense wins hands down as a unit!! IMHO Romo deserves individual honors as he has become a big time leader who proves it on the field as well as in the locker room. Austin also deserves his kudos but it is also my opinion that Austin wouldn't have had the year he had without Romo's maturation. I love me some Cowboys!!!!

I like that "My Team". "I love me some cowboys." Make some t-shirts. I will buy one.

Well.. It wouldnt be wrong to go with either Romo or Austin. I, however, like to give MVP to Mile for the First half of the Season and then ROMO. in the 1st Half, we truly cant see how this season gonna ended up until Miles break through. He inspired the Offense and give Romo much confidence/big target to go to. The whole team fight as a unit. (Did you see everyone rushed to the endzone and jumped on top of Miles after that TD catch in OT at Chief?..It was sensational and i scream "WOWWWWW".. not only because we win, but it's the scene that we have not seen in the last few years or maybe a decade. Then.. Here Came ROMO. we just cant give him enough credit. he's in the best year he had. cracked all the media when it come to the "big game" and then December.. despite the 2 lost at beginning of december, He performed like a champ. FLAWLESS... I cant really think We are as we're today without Romo.

I pick Miles Austin, no disrespect to Tony Romo who has been everything I could ask for this year. I just think Austin's contribution is more than just his play on the field. He inspired his team. Again, not that Romo and Ware didn't or do not but there was a shift in the offensive mindset when all of a sudden Miles came on. Everything seemed different. The offense was flailing a little, looking for that thing that would make it go. Along came Miles with a record setting day. Further, he had a great attitude and contagious enthusiasm. He's maintained his humility and he doesn't seem to be faking it. He can do big plays or he can be a possession receiver. If things don't go his way he doesn't make a peep, just comes back the next game/series/play and does his job. He exemplifies this new 2010 team in my opinion: working class attitude with superstar ability. To me, it's Miles.

Witten is spelled wrong in the poll "cmon man"

Ray Diaz /cowboysfansite said...

yeah Shane, I noticed. I cannot change it until poll is expired. My bad.So sorry, I hate when I see that on other sites too. I almost got away with it. Good catch Shane. Witten, Witten, Witten!

Oh boy what a decision. I give my vote to Miles as well. He gave Romo a target to go for and then singlehandedly beat a few teams. Of course Tony has to get him the ball but his YAC are something else. GO Cowboys.

Tony Romo is the MVP. He is a baller, like on the blacktop. He does well with ball fakes, pumps, play action. What I would love to see is a pump fake outside on the snap, a fake hand off to Barber, then Barber block, let it fly to Austin. Whooo weee. TD. But I digress. This is Romo's moment. He is just an amazing passer. I know the game he stepped it up to elite, too: game 2 vs. the Giants. Just look at the command he had on the ball that game from start to finsh. I love you Tony Romo. LOVE. And I must admit I kill this guy when he struggles, because I know how awesome he is. But I am working past that now. There has definitely been more defending of him by me over the years than killing, for sure (verbally of course). Now, I am trying to be the best fan I can be, supportive and critical in the right mix. You know, you can't just elevate a guy one week and then he's chopped crap the next. Stand by your man, ya'll. From Oklahoma with love.

bishopbyzi, great post man! would love to see you as a regular. The real test for all the fans is when things go bad. Die Hard fans will stick by the 'boys thru it all. This is a special team who is committed to winning. Game against the Vikes is HUGE!
